I recently spent several months making modifications to my Reg White Tornado AUS 287 to put more bouyancy in the nose to make it more competitive for downwind sailing. During the process I took photos and recorded the mods in some articles as I went. Take a read. If you have an older Tornado which still has some life left in it for racing you may just want to do this modification. I think it probably hasn't added much more than 1or 2 kgs to the overall weight of the boat and so far the performance of the boat against newer Marstrom and other boats has indicated this exercise was well worth the effort.
